Gouache on 1/8" Illustration Board
This is the original painting published as the cover to the vintage paperback 'sleaze' novel Sex-Swinger by Andrew Blake in 1963.
The artist who did this gorgeous painting is unidentified, but there are some interesting pencil markings that could possible be interpreted as the initials "CWS", or the last part which might be an "S" also looks a lot like the signature "D" for "Darcy" that Chiriaka used to use.
Either way, the artist who produced this piece was obviously technically skilled and one of the better ones who did work for Beacon, so he deserves to be credited whoever he is. Hopefully someone with records of who did what will come forward one day and put an end to hundreds (if no thousands) of unidentified painting mysteries!
