When Roy Thomas decided to write a sequel to Red Nails, he tapped Rafael Kayanan as the artist, not only because he was dependable and experienced, but also because he was a huge fan of the original Barry Windsor-Smith material material and wanted to pay homage to it by drawing the sequel with a similar sensibility. Kayanan illustrated several scenes featuring Conan which he then submitted to Roy Thomas. Thomas was so thrilled with them that he not only guaranteed Kayanan the task of illustrating the sequel, but also ended up handing out the many illustrations to be published as pinups in the various Conan magazines of the time, such as Savage Sword, Conan Saga, etc. I haven't owned a comic book collection since the very early 90's, so I don't know exactly where (or if) this piece was published, but I've owned this piece for over a decade now and am offering it here for the price I paid for it back then!
